Prayer

I grew up attending New Philadelphia Presbyterian Church in Quincy, Florida.  Mrs. Inez Todd was a member of our church and if I remember correctly, she would have been in her eighties when I was born.  God blessed her with a long life and she lived to be over 100 years old.

By the time I was in high school, Mrs. Todd had lost her sight and most of her hearing.  She still continued to attend church and always sat on the front row so that she could hear.

I remember visiting her in her home with my mother.  I asked her what she did during the day to occupy her time.  I still remember being moved by her response.  She said that since she had lost her sight and hearing that she was not distracted by the little things around her and that gave her more time to pray.

Drawing from this as inspiration, our family is dedicating ourselves for the next month to pray.  Each morning and evening, we plan to set aside the things that distract us and pray together.  We are asking God to supply the remaining 20% of the support that we need to return to Japan in July.  Please pray with us as we pray, meet with potential support team members, and speak at churches.  By the end of May we hope to have a clear confirmation that we will be able to return to Japan on-time.

Prayer Points:

* For our family's next transition.  This summer, if the Lord wills it, we will be heading back to  Japan.  We have enjoyed our time in the States, but we long to be back in Japan. Pray that we would have good times of fellowship with our family and friends.

* Pray that God would provide the remainder of the support that we need to return to Japan.  We are praying for 50 new families to commit to $25, $50 or $100 a month in support of our ministry.

     Example:  10 @ $100    = Our goal!
                      20 @ $50
                      20 @ $25

Pray for Japan as they move into a new era.  The crowning of  Emperor Naruhito ushers in the era of Reiwa which means, “Beautiful Harmony.”  Pray that the nation of Japan would come to know the peace and harmony that comes from believing in the true and living God.

* Pray that God would sweep over Japan with a mighty moving of His Holy Spirit of Harvest.

Finally, this is a card that was sent to us by my Uncle Jack Vanstone.  I keep it in my planner as a reminder to pray that God would work mightily in Japan.  Thank you, Uncle Jack, for your faithful, daily prayers!
